Learn How to Plan, Record, Edit, Publish, and Live Stream Audio & Video
Studio 809 Podcasts is offering six 1-hour classes, practical experience working on existing podcasts, and a chance to earn money continuing that work. Studio 809 Podcasts, a local podcast network with a downtown studio, is offering this course free, because we want to develop more local talent. Students may also use our studio to record their own podcast if they wish. Course begins January 13, 2026.
Register here, and join us for the first class, virtually, on January 13, 2025 from 4 to 5 p.m.
DETAILS:
Course consists of one .5 to 1-hour orientation, five 1-hour classes, and approximately 90 minutes of tutorials to view at home. Some classes are virtual, while some will be in-person in our downtown studio. Students are strongly encouraged to attend the classes while they are being presented live, but recordings of Zoom classes will be available should a student unavoidably miss one. Studio 809 Podcasts will offer this course free to all students. It is especially designed for high school and college students, but all are welcome.. As a practicum, each student is expected to produce, record, edit and publish 2 episodes of a podcast assigned to them, and to crew on one live/on-location event. Students will not be paid for this practicum, but interested students who have completed the practicum will have the opportunity to start picking up paid assignments helping our existing podcasts. Students may also use our studio to record their own podcast if they wish, during the course. Course begins January 13, 2026. Course and practicum must be completed by August 15, 2026. If a student cannot complete the practicum, they or a sponsor will be expected to pay a course tuition fee of $150.
