After a family scare with Alzheimer’s, Jewels Burdick started researching possible links between the disease and every day cosmetics. She learned that 66 percent of what goes onto your body, goes into your body, yet there’s no government agency to oversee production of cosmetics. After searching in vain for natural products that actually worked, she turned her own kitchen into a laboratory and started Simple Body Products.
