Are Jan Martin and Jill Gaebler as “plugged in” to what’s happening in the Pikes Peak region as they were when serving on city council? We try to find out. Jan and Jill co-hosted the first Studio 809 podcast, CityTalk, which debuted in 2017, so we’re excited to have them back, as the first guests on The Next Us.
In this episode, we discuss Colorado Springs City Council – new faces, council pay, and scuttlebutt about changing the makeup of our utilities board. What’s next for City Auditorium, a proposed 36-story residential tower downtown, and neighbor opposition to some affordable housing projects.
Jill Gaebler served as City Councilor representing district 5 from 2013 to 2021. She is now executive director of the new Pikes Peak Housing Network. She also serves on the board of the Front Range Passenger Rail District.
Jan Martin served as at-large City Councilor 2007 to 2015, she was on the board of the Colorado Springs Pioneer’s Museum, and has been a trustee of the Garden of the Gods Foundation since 2015.
