Whoa! How in the world did you do that? In one 52-minute podcast you managed to hit almost every single way in which the present governance of Colorado Springs is failing its citizens. Good work ….
Just an observation …. If you look deep enough I think you will find that, psychoses aside, almost every instance of anti-social behavior in human beings stems from two things – ignorance and fear. Take the mask issue for instance. At the bottom of it – first – is true ignorance of the facts. Facts that stem from science, which is a subject many people distrust and with which they are thus unwilling to engage. Facts have little effect upon those who are not seeking them, for whatever reason. And the fear I suspect, is a fear of slippery slope. “If I give in on this personal rights issue what will they come for next?” It’s clear that no-one is going to get arrested for not wearing a mask 0in Colorado Springs, so you can’t compare it to speeding, car insurance, yelling “Fire” etc etc. Make it the law, jail and fine one hundred people and everyone would be wearing their masks in no time flat. What’s a couple more lawsuits in a city already knee-deep in litigation?
Not every citizen can be counted upon to measure up to the norm in terms of personal responsibility and caring for one’s fellow human beings. In a free society the best we can do is try to overcome the ignorance and fear. Not hundred percent …. never will be.
Here’s a provable fact. When they throw a Party Of Good Ideas, Colorado Springs will always be the last to walk in the door. And most of the time, it won’t even be walking, it’ll be dragged in kicking and screaming in protest.
