Happy Star Wars Day!  Gary, Lyn and Dee discuss current events and politics.   We start with some good news.  The Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity office has a program to help low income veterans with home repairs.  To find out more about this program, contact the Pikes Peak Office at (719) 472-7800 x 109, or e-mail them at office@pikespeakhabitat.org.  There are rules and conditions to get this aid, so contact the office to see if you qualify.  We discuss a project a group of Finnish people are undertaking.  An ice carving of Trump in a glacier to test his ‘theory’ on global warming.  If the glacier melts, there goes the carving.  (We can only hope there will be streaming footage of this!)

Our main topic this week is the Koch backed “Efforts in Government: Advancing Principled Public Policy.”  It’s really more barbaric than principled.  The Koch brothers back a number of conservative and libertarian groups in an effort to influence policy.  They are like the cthulhu of NGOs–tentacles everywhere, bent on world domination, and massive suffering.  The topics covered in this pamphlet on principled government include: engaging lawmakers, confirming principled jurists, ensuring worker freedom, rolling back overregulation, protecting America’s fiscal future, eliminating corporate welfare, and increasing access to educational freedom.  The tactics to advance these policies — engage and educate Americans, shape the narrative through the media, direct lobbying of lawmakers.
