Season Three, Episode Four

Gary and Dee discuss a number of topics, both political and not.  We start off with the week in review, a long list of things that happened since our last podcast.  OK, most of the week’s topics are politics, but we also cover Kaepernick receiving the W.E.B. DuBois award.  We discuss the city of Longmont purchasing Tesla batteries to store renewable energy.  They estimate by doing this they will save the city $1 Million/year.  We discuss many different tactics for voter suppression employed in these United States.  We discuss the relevancy of the Nobel Prize.  This year’s winners include a number of women and topics involving evolution and climate change.  We cover the US deficit.  (The budget is having serious issues.)  In medical news, colorectal cancer is sickening a number of young people.  The age for routine screenings has been lowered to 45.  We discuss the geography of opportunity.  And, here’s the link to the “Opportunity Atlas.”

Feel free to check your zip code.  We follow up by discussing a number of issues and candidates from the Indy Votes issue of the Colorado Springs Independent.  (Although we didn’t quite finish this, we ran out of time.)  We finish with a discussion of whether or not government should be run like a business.  (The answer is absolutely not.)
