We have some Good News to cover as well–automatic absentee ballots for disabled voters in Alabama; a UBI experiment in Jackson, Mississippi; New Mexico offering tuition free college at public schools for ALL state residents; Colt will no longer manufacture AR-15s for civilian use.
We discuss prescription drug prices. This is one of the many things going up much higher than income.
Bret Kavanaugh is back in the news. The publication of a new book, has outlined the lack of thoroughness of the investigation into his past behaviors.
GM workers are on strike. Why? When GM was bailed out, the company forced a lot of concessions on the workers. The company is highly profitable, they pay the CEO $22M annually. The workers are asking for some consideration. One of the chief one is eliminating the two tier pay system. Moving all ‘temporary’ workers to permanent. It comes down to wages, benefits and job security. There is no job security when plants are closed and manufacturing is moved overseas.
