Gary, Lyn and Dee discuss topics of the day and politics. Always, there is political discussion. Our topics this episode include State of the Fifth, basically our reaction to our congress person’s newsletter. One of our big discussions is the Pennsylvania gerrymander. The Pennsylvania legislature has gerrymandered the heck out of the state. They are now wrestling for control with the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. (Threats of recall and impeachment are being tossed around.) And, we discuss the Independent Redistricting Commission in Arizona. The Arizona legislature is asking voters to make it not very independent this November. In relation to both of these issues we discuss the upcoming US Census. The Census is scheduled to get underway in 2020 (every ten years) and we are woefully unprepared for it. We also discuss tax breaks for pharmaceutical ads, seriously why? We discuss how rural economies might be hurt by these new tariffs. And, we discuss the upcoming talks with North Korea.
